An alumnus of both Rowan and Monmouth University, Cristina graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English & Psychology before returning to her home town complete her Master’s degree and teach high school English. After several years there, she developed and implemented a curriculum based in Mindfulness and self-care practices that continues to be taught today. Today she uses all that she’s learned in her 17+years of teaching and 20+ year Mindfulness practice to help students reach their realize their potential in academics, relationships, and self-sustaining care.

Growing up with undiagnosed ADHD, I found ways to hack my brain and develop the organization and time management skills I needed to be successful. Since my diagnosis I’ve read anything and everything I could on ADHD, not only teaching myself how nuerodivergent brains work, but also realizing how our tools & hacks can benefit almost anyone.

Psychology. mental health, and wellness have always been a personal passion of mine, as each has helped me navigate the harder times of my life.
When mentoring young people, a job I have done with countless students during my many years teaching, I use my understanding of adolescence, both personal and evidenced-based, to help each student/child find their worth.

We do this through exploring personal values and identifying ways in which they can, or already do, things that align with their actions. I find that by tending to a child’s individual needs and interests, we can help them reach their greatest potential.

Yoga & Meditation
In 2000, I started practicing yoga with a DVD called “Fat Burning Yoga” by Crunch Fitness. Little did I know that my attempt to “burn fat” would turn into a lifelong practice that had nothing to do with burning fat.
Over the years I’ve modified my practice for injury, chronic pain, autonomic dysfunction, pregnancy and more.
My varied experiences with the practice have allowed me to develop a teaching method that is mindful of the practitioner(s) and their needs.
